Works to Old Cottage in Lyndhurst received planning consent in January 2012.

The scheme includes the removal of a modern flat roof extension that is in poor condition and creation of a replacement ground floor extension that will provide an extended kitchen / dining space for the clients with better access to the mature gardens. Beneath the extended kitchen floor there will be a new wine cellar accessed through the kitchen.

Other works include the removal of an existing single garage which is to be replaced with one outbuilding that will incorporate a double garage, workshop and study.

Works have now begun on the detailed design stage.

Studio Four have just submitted Planning applications for the Reading Rooms extension to the Winchester University library and the Archaeology department extension at Medecroft.

Reading Rooms

A three storey extension to provide six new Reading Rooms attached to the Martial Rose library at the University of Winchester. The very restricted nature of the site has led to the proposal to crane in six pre-fabricated modules which will then be clad in bright solid grade laminate panels to add some interest and light reflection into this dark courtyard.

Archaeology Department Extension

An extension to the Medecroft building at the University of Winchester to create a new washdown area for soil from archaeological excavations, sorting through finds and storing these for future reference and study. The building will include rainwater harvesting to reduce water consumption during the soil washing process.
