Abbey United Reformed Church
The Abbey United Reformed Church, dating from 1888, occupies a tight site in the town centre of Romsey. The scheme includes the formation of a new glazed entrance lobby in the main church, a new modern extension to the rear to accommodate wc’s and a crèche area, a new kitchen to the existing halls and re-ordering the entrance to provide a suitable approach for wheelchair users. The project has required careful detailing to achieve a design sympathetic to the existing buildings, whilst allowing visibility and natural light into internal spaces.
