Dawn House
This Listed Building, located on Sleeper’s Hill in Winchester, was designed by Ernest Newton RA – a leading Arts and Crafts Architect, who died in 1922.
During the late 1900’s the building was purchased by the Wessex Regional Health Authority and converted to offices, with a number of unsympathetic extensions and external fire escape staircases.
Studio Four’s Client bought the property and commissioned the Practice with a brief to convert the house back to a family home, tailored to suit a modern lifestyle and yet respect the original plan and details. All the works were carried out in close liaison with the Winchester Conservation Officer.
