Swimming Pool, West Tytherley

The client required an indoor swimming pool extension to a new timber framed house being constructed on a prominent rural site. A sauna, plunge pool, changing room and small gym area were to be included.

Planning restrictions prevented the majority of the building being more than 2 metres above existing ground levels, so the design cut into the slope of the site, with a retaining wall topped by a 2 metre decorative brick garden wall.

To the front of the house, the new building mirrors the garage block to form a symmetrical arrangment, whilst at the back the pool is totally glazed allowing views across the new lawn area, to create an ‘outdoor’ feel all year round.
