Highbury Learning Centre
The principle of the new extension was to provide an abstract curved form, which broke away from the rectilinear nature of the existing dated building stock and created a highly visible image for this important central facility which will also be open for community use. By routing back through existing buildings, a new link was formed as an extension of the main College Street. This enabled insertion of a four storey lift to interconnect other new and existing areas thereby solving many of the college’s disabled access problems and exceeding the client’s original expectations.
