A Beautiful (albeit cold) morning on site at our SIP project; ‘Black Barn’, near Basingstoke

The project is now three months in and we took our Part 1 Architecture students; Priyanka and Tom and our Architectural Apprentice Ashton along to see how the works have progressed and witness installation of the Ecologic SIPs roof panels. Site visits are a useful learning tool for all members of our team as we see the vision become a reality and work with contractors and clients to develop a project.

The contemporary new build four-bed house has developed swiftly over the last month thanks to off-site manufacture of all the above ground construction elements. The project is highly sustainable with insulation levels that far exceed Building Regulation standards, complimented with the installation of an air source heat pump and MVHR system. A large glazed rear element with views across the countryside reveals itself as you enter the dwelling with a large double height void to capture light and views above the open plan living space.

We are looking forward to making a return visit to see the zinc roof installation, external cladding and glazing by ODC Construction in the coming weeks / months.
