Freedom Church are based in Romsey and have been looking for a site to be able to bring together their various activities under one roof – including extensive community-based work and other church groups. Studio Four have designed a new building for a site on the northern edge of the town to form the Freedom Centre, which incorporates a large café/foyer space, Food Hub shop and preparation area, a large worship space and ancillary hall spaces. The building form uses natural materials and a simple form, which together with a large external deck is raised up above ground level to provide flood resilience.
