KURT RIGGS
PROJECT DIRECTOR + SENIOR TECHNOLOGIST + GARDEN DESIGNER
Kurt is one of our Project Directors here at Studio Four and is also the office Landscape Designer.
He primarily works on a wide range of Healthcare projects both from the architectural side and landscape design side and has worked on projects such as the DTC at the Royal Hampshire County Hospital, the Emergency Department at Southampton General Hospital and numerous buildings for what used to be Solent NHS Trust at St Marys and St James Hospitals. He has also designed memorial gardens for the NHS to honour staff lost during the Covid pandemic.
In his own words;
“I decided to qualify as a Landscape Designer a few years back now as I felt that a building should work with the outside too. How many times does an extension get built for someone’s house only for the garden to be left a mess and then the client wondering what to do? Wouldn’t it be great to do both together, have both running alongside each other so that subtle building design changes and landscape changes could be done before it is completed to ensure that they complement each other and work in harmony without creating obstacles and missed opportunities”.
His spare time is taken up with his two young children but if he does get a break Kurt enjoys going to the gym and working on restoring his Classic Mini Cooper.
