It includes improvements to the pedestrian links to the town from Winchester Road, creating attractive new residential development and a Youth Hall. The relocation of the Hall into purpose built accommodation will benefit a wide section of the local community, particularly as many local groups currently use the facilities, which include a food bank. The approved proposals will enhance this prime location at the entrance to the town, directly opposite Bishop’s Waltham Palace ( a Scheduled Ancient Monument), and very careful consideration was given to the overall visual impact of the proposal.
Country Homes approached Studio Four to conduct a feasibility study and obtain planning permission for a mixed-use development on an under-utilised site, situated on the outskirts of this characterful Hampshire market town. The scheme provides an opportunity to significantly enhance the visual appearance of the existing local area, and a wide variety of different site development options were considered.
