Phase two included the total refurbishment of the first floor of the building; formerly the “Pyramids Live” plaza venue; to transform it into a larger, brand new gym and fitness class facility, including new HIIT and spin studios, reception and changing areas.
Feature special effect lighting, and state-of-the-art fitness equipment that links to fitness app technology, create a welcoming, motivational and inspirational environment to encourage the public to become regularly active.
We are delighted that this re-invigorated local landmark has been given a new lease of life.
Studio Four Architects Ltd acted as Design and Build Architect on a project remodelling and transformation of the Pyramids Centre on Southsea seafront for the site’s operator BH Live working in partnership with Portsmouth City Council.
Phase one of the project saw the transformation from a wave effect swimming pool to create Exploria, a brand new soft play and bounce centre; it involved stripping out the water slides and other water-based activity equipment, and re-purposing the space to create a large ‘play and bounce’ facility; including adventure world themed climbing frames, trampolines, slides, ball-pits and interactive play areas; plus sensory areas, new party rooms, café and ancillary functions.
The gym and fitness centre, also operated by BH Live, remained operational throughout the redevelopment works.
